Mr Lee Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Does the government actually believe they can win over the oil companies. TheMason Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Maybe the govt. figures that if they can seize an airport, why not an oil refinery? If they seize the refinery, other companies can and willl fill the void. As a matter of fact, I'm sure that Petron would be more than willing to take over operation, and eventually ownership, of all Shell assets in the Philippines. Of course, seizing an oil company's assets isn't nice and will scare off even more international investment, but the govt. will have a nice oil refinery free of charge. If the seizure does happen, I would LOVE to see the oil companies refuse to sell or ship to the RP and the oil transport companies refuse to hire Filipino OFWs to work on their tankers.
