Mr Lee Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 This is a step in the correct direction to stop the rip offs that those drivers most often try on port passengers. Have any of you been ripped off at the port? I also wonder when they will get around to stopping the same practices at the airport. Last year, RPOC-7 passed a resolution bringing to the attention of the Cebu Port Authority the exorbitant and abusive practices of the taxis operating at the Cebu City ports.Link to the story
scianna54 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Last year there had an armed guard at Pier 4 warning each taxi driver and handing out those papers to each passenger. There was none this year and the scamming was rampant. Maybe they removed the guards to let things escalate.Surprisingly the situation has changed to the better in Manila, almost all taxi drivers turn on their meter on without being reminded, so yes, Cebu is worse than Manila at this time. Now regular Taxis want more to take you to the Airport.
