retired Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Power situation here in Mindanao is a bit of a farce and seems to depend on which grid your distributor is tied into . Here in Cagayan de Oro we are still on 5 hr brown out schedules despite the fact that the local distributor just published a new schedule yesterday stating that brownouts would only be for 3.5 hrs but then didn't bother to keep its own schedule . :-) 20 miles south of here ( towards Illigan )they haven't had a brownout in a week and when they do have its only for 2 hrs but those are independent" distributors . In the end it all smells especially with the announcement that the National Power Corp is purchasing gensets from abroad that will arrive within 60 days . Why they are sending them through Zamboanga is beyond me but we are told to be ready for KWH prices to increase from 6.5 to 15 - 19 which will of course make power in Manila cheaper than here . And the beat goes on .... :-)
Travis Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 imo it is all being set up by the governmet & politicians many of which probably own the power companies & have stock in the fuel companies & will make money off the generators being imported it is all about money imo
