Inspector Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Due to some medical conditions, I need a massage at least twice a week. I prefer the pressure point Shiatsu type massage, but it is VERY hard to find somebody good at this in the Philippines. Now, Korean and Thai involves a bit more stretching, so I find a guy far more effective for this type, but those never quite "hit" the areas and you feel great for about 10 minutes until the pain returns. A good Shiatsu massage by a trained masseuse is the best for injuries, and you don't need to be "strong" to manage this, just know "where". They are also very relaxing, and seem to really rejuvenate your well being.I recently found an expert in a spa, who now comes to my home, and for 250 pesos home service by a well trained pinay (she is older and been doing this for 8 years).... I find this a amazing deal. I am just wondering if anybody else uses a regular massage therapist, and if they know of any other specialists that are good in the massage...haha, and I am not talking happy endings. I ask because I will be moving once again in the future and while this pinay is willing to be a live in massage therapist for my GF and I, I don't know if I can handle 4-6 hours of massage every day. :thumbs-up-smile: Besides, I own a massage table, I shipped from the USA, and it seems to be too tall for her to use, thus I end up on the bed...so maybe a taller therapist down the road as I hate turning my head to the side and cramping the neck...nothing like a hole to stick your head in that does not smell. :1927_:In the US, these massage things are expensive and unless your insurance covers them, I find them beyond my means (due to my insurance and a lifetime injury, I got/get them free). One of the fine perks of third world country living is the cheap labor...including the massage, and live in help. Twice a week, 2 hours per session seems to be a way I keep my pain levels manageable and mood of well being at a peak. Any other massage junkies here? Any other massage junkies here?Inspector, Any updates?I love massages done by a skilled person. (I also am not referring to happy endings kind) I see signs posted throughout my neighborhood for home massage but to use one, I'd have to get my wife to do first and ensure it had the good housekeeping / marriage seal of approval. I have not worked through that yet. I think having access to affordable massages is one of the great benefits of being here. I could start to collect numbers or may some inquiries as a resource. TheMason Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I guess I'm lucky, my wife took massage classes as part of her caregiver training and is a certified masseuse. She will generally give me a full body massage twice a week and an awesome back rub just about every day. :1247:Can't help you with a therapist in Cebu though, I just felt like bragging about my good fortune. It is hard to say no as it is not bad but there is difference. The other factor is -- why make her work when the cost is so cheap. I will have to find some new solutions. I'm going to keep using her as long as I'm in the city area....she goes to Lapu Lapu on her off day, so I am sure I can pay for another visit to get me to the twice a week I need, if I move elsewhere....which is now probable, since I now have mice in the house eating all my shipped metrx packets. You think they could of just eaten ONE bag...noooo, had to make holes in every single bag of the 44 box and "sample" each one. I have a freaking zoo in this house, can charge for wildlife tours....
