Mr Lee Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 The world is getting smaller for accused sex offenders and it seems the Philippines is no longer safe for them to hide in. I have no pity for them if they are guilty. In a report to BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan, BI-Interpol unit chief Floro Balato Jr. identified the fugitives as Jeffrey Dana Pounders, 49, and Kenneth James Sweeney, 69. Sweeney was deported last June 16 aboard a Continental Airlines flight to Guam en route to the US mainland where he is wanted to stand trial before a US district court in Florida. He was indicted before the said court on charges of child pornography and engaging in illicit sexual conduct. Meanwhile, Pounders, who is scheduled to be deported on June 23, is the subject of an arrest warrant by a grand jury in Jefferson County, Alabama for allegedly molesting a child less than 13 years old. Balato said both fugitives were arrested by BI-Interpol agents on the strength of deportation warrants issued by Libanan. The BI board of commissioners had earlier issued orders for their summary deportation after being informed that the US State Department had already revoked their passports, hence making them undocumented aliens. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) recently deported two Americans who are both wanted in the US for being sex offenders.

In the last 2months I have seen 3 people "escorted" from the premises under guard destined for an unknown location - this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this. One I found out later was a child molester. Good to see that neither the RP, nor the rest of Asia, is any longer the safe haven it used to be for criminals wanting to lead peaceful lives.
