United Army Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I chatted with Tricare today about how to submit Pharmacy claims. They recommend that when you purchase the medications, that you use a credit card instead of cash. The reason is that Tricare has a "proof of purchase" thing. And a credit card is much better than cash or more secure as proof of purchase and you will get reimbursed faster with a credit card payment. Right now they have a ton of claims pending that were paid by the member in cash. I have been using cash but now will use my credit card for purchase of medications. They also stated to use cash for over the counter meds and credit card for prescription medications. If anyone else has different info on the proof of purchase thing please let me know. Art2ro Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) Marko, I don't understand the reasoning behind that! I always pay cash for all of my medications at Mercury Drug Store, which most are TRICARE approved, the one I go to is and it's just across the street from our house! I read on another forum where a member said to have a letter typed out on a letter head from the Drug Store whenever your receipts are unreadable. Sounds like a good idea huh! Should help really! Sample below as an official receipt from the Drug Store for TRICARE to show proof of purchase: Mercury Drug –PPS Malvar San JuanSouthern Luzon Drug Corporation133 Malvar St. Puerto Princessa City, PalTIN: 004-461-256-031 Vat SN: 41-HFTF6IBM 4694 (10822A) 0 500664 R002PA # 22 WILMERNorvasc Tab 5MG 68.5548003045003 3x 22.85Total 68.55Amount of sale (w/o VAT) 61.21Less; 20% sales discount 12..24Vatable sale 48.97Plus: 12% VAT 5.87Total Amount 54.84 Amount TenderedCash 54.84 Total Payment 54.84 **3 item(s)**Order # 397OSCA # 00454Sold to: FOURNIER, LOURDES BVatable (T) 48.97Vat-Exempt sale (X) 0.00Vat Zero-Rated sae (Z) 0.00Total Sale 48.97VAT- 12% 5.87Amount Due 54.84 Nakasissiguro Gamot ay laging Bago!!!
