I am hoping for 47 at the very least and 50 would be much better. 08/16/2010 The peso is expected to settle at 46 to 47 against the dollar by the end of this year with the US economy still mired in uncertainty and foreign investors look to Asia as an increasingly favorable investment destination, former National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) director general Bernardo Villegas said in a recent CEO forum. Villegas said there is a great likelihood that the US economy will enter into a double-dip recession next year, thus retarding any possible depreciation of the peso. Latest unemployment figures of the US were rather disappointing with total non-farm employment down by 131,000 in July. Between April and June, gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.4 percent annually compared with 3.7 percent in the previous quarter.
