Any fans of the UFC? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0RJMx8tufU&feature=relatedGeorges St Pierre came to Manila and Balls channel did a nice feature on his visit. He managed to meet with the Pac Man and it got me thinking, GSP vs Manny...a no brainer, GSP with an easy win. :thumbsup:BTW, next Sunday morning on Balls...the tiny man fights once again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1rXGckqRysUFC 121....:th_thholysheep:

Manny apparently said recently he'd love to try an MMA fight which was no doubt silenced by his handlers. The fact is, at the top of boxing, you make 10~20 million per fight (50 if it's with Mayweather?). Brock and them make between 1 and 2 million, and that's only recently they make that much. Guys like GSP and BJ usually make around 500k, or a million tops, including the deals we don't know about? So why would Manny go pull a James Toney for a fraction of, or at most equal to, what he already makes? and Manny is probably too small even for the lightweight division in the UFC. He'd have to fight in the WEC(?) at 145, against an amazing fighter no one's ever heard of. Manny would be an amazing MMA fighter if he started in it at 20. But at 32, it's waaaaaaay too late. He can fight a bum like me and make a few million dollars. He's cruising. As a fan of boxing, MMA, and the NBA, the former two being relatively recent, check out www.bleacherreport.com and search mike 'shotgun' towle. You'll find some articles I was writing a year or so ago before the Filipinos invaded the site with their bad english and fanatical arguments. I love filipinos and i love Pacquiao, but I just couldn't take it anymore.

Agreed on the purse amounts, but that could be far different if Manny was involved. ...and the apples vs oranges took effect. No?One fight? It could be in that 20 million range for Manny as well...as the interest in MMA is very real these days, as fast a growing sport there is....as is the interest in Manny. This thing could be huge. Let's promote it Ekim!...we can be rich! :th_thholysheep:....also on the show aired by Balls, GSP said the same thing...he's too big. Toney, same weight, was easily defeated by Couture simply because of the vast amount of skills a MMA fighter has, while in boxing, you have one. If you can't defend take downs at the very least, the boxer loses to a wrestler every time. BTW...a few more wins and Brock will be bigger then Manny, and I am sure the big stars on the WWE or fake wrestling circuit make more then the UFC these days...but for Brock, it was a pride macho thing...and while I take him on as the villain he portrays, kudos are out to him for fighting for real, and learning so much at a advanced stage. As they say...better to have a wrestling background then any other skill if you are to have a base to begin this sport.

That's the weird thing. Brock is almost bigger than Manny right now, but doesn't make nearly as much money. I don't understand how a guy no one in the US knows about, Thomas Ademek, can make $500k fighting small fights, and in MMA you have to be GSP to make that money. Boxing is still a bigger money sport than MMA, but it's not nearly as popular anymore, or at least doesn't feel like it is. The thing about the UFC and money is they put on so many shows with as much talent per show as they can afford. So the money gets spread out over ten top level fighters who might compete on that card, as well as ten up-and-comers, and no one PPV does massive numbers, since most guys just watch them with friends at the bar. Only Brock and GSP - especially Brock - fights do huge PPV numbers.Boxing, however, only has a couple massive fights a year, so everyone waits on hands and knees for it to come along, and when it does arrive, basically all the money goes to the main event fighters. No one even knows who else was on the card. Boxers would make a lot less per fight if there were a big show once a month, and a lot of draws on their card. They say that the older crowd that still follows boxing is a richer crowd, so when there's a big boxing match in Vegas, the casinos are full of fight fans. MMA, on the other hand, is followed most religiously by 20-somethings, who can't spend and splurge on fight weekend in the casinos and hotels, and spend so much on tickets, like the older boxing crowd. But the day will come, maybe 10 years from now, when they can.

Hey guys, You two are apparently quite passionate about boxing and MMA, so I decided to join your little group. But first, I had to look up GSP (Georges St-Pierre), UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and MMA (mixed martial artists). Now that I have edjumacated myself, I would like to throw you guys a curve ball: which arena (boxing or MMA) has the most sexiest girls that carry those signs between bells? Which female tennis player grunts the most loudest both on and off court? What isyour favorite cheer leading squad and why? Which female athlete makes you sweat the most as you tightly hold that"remote control"?As you can see, I promote equal opportunity here -- it's time to talk about the female persuasion in the sports world. It'stoo bad nobody talks about muff diving anymore he, he........Respectfully -- Jake the Snake

UFC doing quite well PPVI don't believe MMA is as big world wide as boxing, yet, but in the USA it now is. FAR more kids doing MMA these days over boxing...WAY more. In the UK...faster growing sport then even in the USA, which was fun as all their fighters lost aside from Brisbane in last weeks slugfest from England. And it's by FAR the fastest growing sport...won't be long before it easily overtakes boxing worldwide. I've been watching the UFC since it's inception, as well as Pride...and all I can say is that it's growth is unreal. The fans get a UFC card every month, or even less...the only big draw in boxing these days...Manny. Let's promote some fights here...we can have an expat card.

OMG... nice pics! Yeah, I've thought about that, trying to put an MMA gym or training center together in the Philippines. It's really just a day dream with almost zero chance of ever happening. But I think of stuff I'd like my kids to learn, and fighting is one of them, if nothing else, for self-defense. I've got two girls so far, so I want them to be dangerous. The number one reason my gym dream will never happen is I don't train in any of that stuff myself. But I've seen MMA on TV in the Philippines, some local fight circuit, and UFC stars are hugely popular when they visit, like Liddel and GSP. You've even got a handful of Fil-Ams doing reasonably well in the UFC. There are lots of boxing gyms in the Philippines, but it'd be cool if you could teach those kids to wrestle, kick, and maybe some BJJ. I couldn't teach it, but if I knew people who could, and I'm a rich dude some day, it might be worth it to finance, at least for fun, if not for profit, a gym. Let's hope Manny puts his money into training MMA fighters in the future, rather than boxers. Actually, the UFC probably does better PPV numbers than boxing over the entire course of the year since they do 3 times as many shows.

So here's a story for you...just happened. I am showing Julz the full mount vs guards, as UFC reruns are on Balls...as well as side mount ect...and I took my readers off and placed them on the chair here I got off of. Anyway, after she realized the position of full mount being lights out, I got back up and sat back on the chair. So I am looking to read these forums and ask where my glasses are...she says, they were on the chair. I said...what? I stand up and feel something IN my ass...reach down while watching her eyes wide open...pull a stick out, a stick that was attached to my glasses. My ass is now so freaking big, I swallowed my glasses with my asses. :D
