I came across a post on a geek forum which implies that the problem is with a hotfix ( KB828028) and some software installed, so try uninstalling the hotfix and see what happens or even better try to remember what software you installed recently where the keyboard worked before the install and uninstall that and see what happens, and once you know what software it was causing the problem then probably best to reinstall the hotfix, if removed.
