Hitting On A Filipina

I dont know why the topic is now about age,this is the original question.

Any advice on flirting with a Filipina? How is the culture different then the American way of doing it? For me, if I am at a bar and want to hit on a girl I would just attempt to start a conversation with her. If she acted like she was interested I would ask for her number / suggest getting a drink / coffee / etc. Here, I generally can tell if the girl is interested or not based on their level of interest in the conversation / body language. Same in RP?

So if we all want to debate the age difference thing again we can start a new topic for it.

You may think you're hitting on them.... but in the PHilippines, I'm pretty sure you're the one being hit on... even if you initiate it.... But for god's sake.... and I say this part hypocrtically..... make sure they're not with a guy they have kids with at the moment.... to the best of your ability. That wasn't my situation, but I've heard a lot of stories of women using a foreigner as income with or without her husband's knowledge.... only to use that income to ditch the foreigner and continue on life with the guy she loves. Also, not to rag on age descrepancies, but I think if you're going to start out in the Philippines fresh, go for someone closer to your age, by which I mean 30 if you're 40+. I have nothing against old guys with young girls, but I do agree with Traveler that a woman around that age is much more mature and able to handle the realities of life than a 20 year old who thinks you're going to make her life a living shopping spree. I don't say that only towards Filipinas, but towards women from any country. A 30 year old has a better idea what life is and what she wants. A 20 year old will change. But yes.... you will be the one being hit on, even if you're not.

thank you Lee for inviting me to the topic. to me it is simple. how many times can someone 60 or 70 or older have sex in a week & how many times can someone younger have sex in a week so to me old guys are only fooling themselves when they have ladies way too young for them coz even the sexiness of a young girls will wear off in a few years or sooner & they do not sell enough viagra to fix the problem once that happens so maybe the girl might get what she neds from someone else & if a older guy is ok with that & I have known some that are & enjoy seeing or hearing about their ladies doing it with others then go for it but if a old guy wants his lady all to himself then it might be better to find one who is not in her prime sexual years. sorry but I am an old guy who knows my own limitations & speak from experience & know I cannot do what I did when I was in my 20's so I ask the older guys to ask themselves if they can? being realistic is knowing yourself I got knocked off line before I finished what I was going to write. finding girls is so easy in Cebu that it is sort of like childs play now finding good girls is a little more difficult & finding girls whose family will not expect you to support them once you are with her is even harder from the Filipino women I met while living in Cebu full time

I never was very good at flirting in the States. In the Philippines I never had a chance to flirt the darn Filipinas would approach me directly. I sugest you just approach the gal you are interested in in a respectful way and talk with her dont be too subtle but do be respectful.

Excellent point Joe! Knowing that you are a world traveler (like Oldutot), you speak from experience meeting new friends and learning their culture. You keep it very simple and basic -- just be a good ambassador when visiting other countries.Respectfully -- Jake
