VestilCebu Daily NewsFirst Posted 13:02:00 12/29/2008CEBU CITY, Philippines - American Tim Timmerman arrived in Cebu last Saturday to prepare for his wedding.But on Sunday, he was shot in the stomach after he tried to chase down three men who robbed him and his two companions in Barangay (village) Mabolo, Cebu City.The police later collared the three alleged robbers, all members of Tau Gamma Phi fraternity, in a hot pursuit operation about 6 a.m., three hours after they allegedly pulled off the robbery on the three tourists.Carlo Villarin, 32, Christian Dawal, 19, and Roy Rabaca, 23, were brought to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) where they would be detained pending filing of criminal charges on January 5, the first working day following a 12-day Christmas break.Villarin denied any involvement, saying he was just near the convenience store when the robbery happened.But his two companions pointed to Villarin as the one who brought the .38 caliber revolver and shot Timmerman when the American attempted to run after them.Rabaca said the robbery was unplanned. It was hatched while they were drinking inside a pension house. They happened to spot the Americans at the 8 to Eight Convenience Store in Barangay Mabolo and decided to victimize them.Timmerman was brought to the hospital by his brother Tammy, 29, and friend, Andrew Preston, 32. He was declared out of danger after undergoing surgery to remove the bullet from his stomach.His fianc
