Well going up in the Cordillera the signal, Globe for instance is difficult to reach. The house is located in a valley that is about 90 degrees to another valley.Normally i walk 150 Meters up to the small sari sari that got signal. Relatives of the whole village normally call that place that will then tell the called party to come as someone will call them back in 5...The signal improved over the years and now on the second floor of our house up there sometime we get the signal too. I wanted to buy an antenna few years back but then abandonned the idea.As move there for a week i'd like to again see for that antenna but few questions come to mind.I got a LG and a Mio, my wife has Nokia and Samsung and so on, hopefully those antenna come for any fone, if i need an antenna for each different fone, i'll drop the idea quick.I believe the antenna has to get a phisical connection to the Phone, or it then needs a signal sender if not... If phisical connection not all my phones do have that, it's a thing of the past or it's just combined at same place as loading connection. It took so many years to those phone suppliers to get a standard connection, mini USB was choosen, i take care buying Phones that have this and only this connection now, strangelt so many phones come out still with different connections after 2 years over of Mini USB declared official standard...Well the antenna i heard oof is about 3 k, does anyone use such antenna or knows of a device to boost signal ?

Found this one on Ebay Philippines, seems to be the good thing, but it cost 4 times more then what i expected ! 12'600 Php. (drop a zero please!)Cell Phone Booster wireless + antennaIt's quite well explained by the seller with pictures... It has an antenna to get better poor signal from outside and then has a signal amplifier that all the house is well desserved with signal, if i would have this problem on the house i live in around the year i would then invest, but i am only a week or two every second year up in the Cordillera, so a bit out of budget that.

The ones that will work are no doubt quite expensive, since they are basically repeaters with amplifiers. I found THIS ONE online for p10,800, so surely not worth it for one short trip. I had tried just the antenna once in Mindanao at our families home, but the problem was that I could not find decent low loss cable, so basically the antenna was worthless due to the loss of the 15 foot run of high loss cable, so it did not work any better than the phone by itself. Sorry, no easy answer for your problem but I did post THIS post about Smart Bro and THIS PAGE with video that shows a cheap way to boost the signal of a USB internet device, and I have tried it and it seems to work, so have a look and maybe that might help with your Internet problems. Also it could possibly work for cell phones as well, but one would have to waste another strainer to find out. Also if your Smart phone works there, then there has to be a Smart tower within reach, but for the Smart Bro to work well, it must be full bars on your cell phone at all times, and a fluctuating signal will give you the same results with an internet device, and quite possibly knock you offline completely when the signal drops.
