Call me bubba Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) International cardholders of MasterCard, Cirrus and Maestro can now make cash advances and cash withdrawals through more automated teller machines (ATMs) in the country. It is now possible due to the partnership between MasterCard and the country’s largest ATM network, BancNet. Some 761 ATMs of Allied Banking Corp., Allied Bank Savings, Bank of Commerce, CARD Bank, Equicom Savings Bank, ECTK, Producers Bank, Quezon Capital Rural Bank (QCRB), Security Banking Corp., and Sterling Bank of Asia now accepts foreign-issued MasterCard, Cirrus and Maestro cards. Prior to this development, these ATMs have been accepting only the locally issued MasterCard-branded cards. Earlier, the 1,534 ATMs of the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank), the Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Citibank, Citibank Savings, HSBC, HSBC Savings and Standard Chartered Bank, are already accepting both local and foreign-issued MasterCard, Cirrus and Maestro cards. The 2,300-ATMs that accept international MasterCard, Cirrus and Maestro cards are strategically located at easily accessible sites, including airports, shopping malls, and tourist destinations. Cash dispensed is in pesos, which international customers need at places where checks and credit cards are not accepted for payment.this article was previously published in philstar.com 3april Edited April 5, 2011 by ed villas
