The amount has little to do with the implications of the act.
Call me bubba Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 A friend of mine moved to rent a new place a few months ago. His initial couple of water bills were fine....usual consumption, about 10 units. 3rd bill was up to 20 units, didn't think much of it, just one of those things, tap left running somewhere or whatever. 4th bill was 35 units!Cut a long story short.... he discovered someone from nearby 'squatter' area had hacked into his line and was syphoning off water.Check your bills! sir your friend is at HIGH RISK of having his water contaminated,in turn he & members of his household could get very ILL or SICK.( even death) when they "cut" open the water line, a HIGH CHANCE of contaminates can enter the main water line. if they (your friend) gets ill its very probable that they "the squatters" would get ILL, if they get sick, they will be "RUNNING" to your friend for money.doctors fees, etc etc.Have him to cut off the "water" to them, its for his protection . :AddEmoticons04230:
tom_shor Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 The amount of water your meter shows as being used. Similar to kwatts for electricityThank Roy....how much does it cost 1 unit?I'm not sure if there are variations in different areas but mine at moment is about 16 pesosoh that's too cheap to even bother complaining to the squatter...I'd rather help someone if they need water, poor people.ThanksI might help them if they asked. I have no sympathy at all for thieves even if it was only 25 centavos. Hope they were arrested.

Definately nip it in the bud. Thieves are like spouse abusers. They never get better they only get worse. Each succesful act emboldens them to try something bigger. Art2ro Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Eventually, water will be a precious commodity when the underground water gets even more contaminated in all regions of the Philippines, because of the increasing filth & garbage generated within the poor population and due to industrial waste! Even home tap water isn't fit to drink in most places! When was the last time anyone drank from their tap water? The making and selling of clean water will be on the increase! Hey! It's already happening now everywhere! Why do you see so many water dispensing shops cropping up everywhere? Someone just maybe stealing your water and filtering it in their back yards to sell for a profit and leaving you with the bill and you maybe buying back your own water that was stolen from you in the first place, an unlikely scenario, but one will never know!
