ekimswish Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Athletes of most sports are guys with a lot of energy to be spent, and too much free time on their hands. At least most major sports have long regular seasons and playoffs. Boxers only have a few fights a year, and can practice for only a few hours a day. The rest of it is downtime, twiddling their thumbs, these, some of the most physically intense humans alive. That's why they manage to get themselves in so much trouble. As long as Manny busies himself with harmless activities, power to him. If he ain't "making it rain" in titty bars, assaulting police officers outside Miami nightclubs, getting busted with drugs, beating his wife, knocking up groupies, twittering about his gambling earnings, etc..... power to him. Politically, I thought he could've done more good outside of politics, and I'm a little scared of him politically being so strongly alligned to the church. But if he can produce hospitals, roads, education, and more business, that would be an accomplishment worth praise.
Art2ro Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 (edited) Ed, Had a bad day at the betting casino today? It's not the Philippine's national election yet, too early to begin mud slinging concerning Manny Pacquiao! Get to know him first, before you do, because you yourself admitted that you didn't even know him and have gone about talking trash about him like a tabloid journalist! Your comment, NOT to be disrespectful. but who really cares? Millions of Filipinos do! It sure sounds disrespectful to me of your comments towards a Filipino National Idol and the Filipino's Home Hero! Since you don't know him, you sure know the questions to ask? Me i really dont know who he is....is he aSINGER ,MOVIE STAR  ,Army Reservist, TV show host ,Congressman?ONLY GREAT thing about him and his fights are the CRIME RATE DROPS TO ZERO! So, just be thankful for today for the zero crime rate just for 1 day due to Pacquiao! Sounds like Filipino bashing! roy2cebu Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Don't know much about the guy's personal life, if he's involved in politics or whatever. Never heard of him involved in scandal. Seems he's a guy blessed with a talent that he's used to advantage....who wouldn't? God knows how much he's worth now with prize fight money, advertising, etc....wonder if he gave the poor a handout from his wealth would make a difference to some lives? Rumour has it he was in Cebu some years ago with his entourage, visited a girlie bar and left 30,000 pesos to be shared amongst the staff. As for the fight....disappointing....Mosley didn't put up a show....backed off, backed off...not good entertainment. I'd be pretty pissed off if spent a vast amount of ticket money to see that debacle.
