ekimswish Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Oh yeah..... East Asians also have school on Saturday every other week, something Obama scared Americans with by mentioning as a possibility.
MikeB Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I believe the Confucian values of East Asia helped them with a crazy amount of emphasis put on education (crazy good). While the Philippines only has 10 grades in school, the rest of East Asia (not South East Asia) leads the world in Math and Science.... hence, the future.Interesting, but that's for public school, correct? I am reading that there is a push to increase it to 12, the "K-12 program" that the current President is strongly behind.

People are saying they can't even support ten grades, how the heck are they going to manage 12? I think Ninoy has some great ideas.... basically, let's do what other modern countries are doing. Hopefully he pulls it out. His biggest opposition will always be the Catholic Church and their number one supporter, Manny Pacquiao. As Manny says, if it didn't work for me, it doesn't need to work for you, either.
