What is all about this "God fearing" that both they claim to be and wants in a partner???This from a Filipina's profile:"GOD fearing person, lovable, sweet, honest, loyal and trustworthy.I'm looking for a man who is trustworthy, respectful, loyal, sweet and GOD fearing."

Good question, I will let the post stand as I edited it, but topics of religion are not allowed on the forum because it always ends up in a pissing contest, so people can answer your question, but I am sorry to say that any posts that get into religion itself may end up deleted. I am sorry but I have also deleted your link and last sentences for the same reason. Edited by Kuya Lee

Neither am I, but some members are, and most ladies I have met here are.

Lee, with my utmost respect, I think the discussion without what you deleted will be like a pizza without sauce.I understand the issue, but here I am genuinely trying to understand if we are dealing with ignorance which has been wanted by the Church or something else.I simply divide the world in good people and bad people, regardless of their religion, culture, race, color, etc.Thank you

I’ll answer your question in the context of a Filipina stating that she is and is a woman who is…. “GOD fearing person, lovable, sweet, honest, loyal and trustworthy”.This is code for:I go to Church (how often?) am (most likely) Catholic and would expect “our” children to be raised in the Catholic Church. “Lovable and sweet, honest loyal and trustworthy” speaks for itself. I hope a man would be;"GOD fearing person, lovable, sweet, honest, loyal and trustworthy”Code for you would allow me to go to Mass and it would be very nice if you were Catholic and you must allow our children to be raised as Catholic. You should truly love me and not fool around.Lee is right, a few people just go nuts when the topic is about God, politics or guns. Please don't take it personal you are a reasonable guy its not about you.

One more thing… IMO if she is what she says this is a very good thing. As with any friendship leading to romance you would need to have a serious conversation with her about Religion and Children. If you are not Catholic and are unwilling to support someone who is you must be honest and share your feelings at the outset. Edited by Old55

Old55 answered it better than I could have, but I will add one thing, most ladies that I have met who are married to non Filipinos, and even some who are married to Filipinos of a different religion, will sort of go with the flow, so while my wife and others I have met who used to go to church a few times a week before marriage, once married they sort of adjust to there new life, but at the same time if you are expecting them to give up their religion, then that would be something you and her would have to work out between the two of you, and before marriage and children. I also know ladies who had converted to their husbands religion, but IMO if two people love each other, then neither should try to change the other, unless they want to change on their own for their husbands sake. I am a different religion than my wife, and I would never wish to change her, or her beliefs, and she has never tried to change me or my beliefs, yet she has more or less adjusted on her own. As for the part of your post that was removed, I moved it to the back end of the forum, for other forum support team members and the owner to look at, and decide if they feel I am wrong, but from my experience running forums, most strong statements like the one you made, will only lead to arguments.
