Forum Support Old55 Posted June 6, 2011 Forum Support Posted June 6, 2011 The Three Gorges Dam may be worsening a serious drought along the Yangtze River this year. The Chinese rice production is down dramatically. In Hunan, rain hasn't been so scarce since 1910. In five provinces, 4.2 million people are having trouble finding drinking water. Hopefully there will be good rain soon if not this will directly affect food prices in Philippines. Philippines is a rice importer and domestic rice prices are supplemented by the government.
