Smart has just come out with an upgrade for their Smart Bro and they say that they will continue to improve it in the future. (PLDT) mobile unit Smart Communications Inc. is set to launch Smart Bro Power Plug It which provides subscribers a better and easier Internet surfing experience, allows them to send text messages and make phone calls via the revamped services menu through a new user-friendly interface.Smart Wireless Consumer Division head Danilo Mojica said the Smart Bro Power Plug is a true plug-and-play device as it all it requires from the user is to follow the one step installation instruction and they’re good to go.The user interface is the jump-off point to all the features and services of Smart Bro Power Plug It. At the top of the home screen is the subscriber’s unique Smart Bro mobile identification number (MIN) and below it are the remaining balance and connection time indicators. With instant information on load and usage times, users will be able to manage their budget as they surf.At the center is the promo alerts screen, which allows users to instantly avail of ongoing promos with just a click of the mouse.The new user interface also features an icon bar at the bottom which houses the home, text, and settings buttons and the new voice call and Subscriber Corner features. The Smart Bro Power Plug It also has a Subscriber Corner, which is a one-stop shop for Smart Bro’s latest promos and data packages where users can choose from either sachet or UNLIsurf packages or avail of daily free text messages powered by ChikkaTM. It also allows users to instantly make any computer become a mobile phone by simply clicking on the phone button on the menu for users to make voice calls just like they would on voice messenger applications. Similarly, users can also send text messages to their friends as if they’re chatting with them online. New subscribers can avail of the Smart Bro Power Plug It kit for P1,245 which comes with free 120 hours worth of load valid for five days at any Smart Wireless Center nationwide.Meanwhile, existing Smart Bro Plug It users can have their sticks updated via software download by visiting www.smart.com.ph/bro by getting the upgrade and checking the list of compatible Plug It models once the Smart Bro Power Plug It is out in the market. The upgrade, which they target to finish within the year, will be done in phases: the latest model put out in the market and the model with bigger number of subscribers. Smart currently has over 1.4 million subscribers wherein 95 percent are prepaid subscribers and 5 percent comprise of postpaid subscribers. Average usage of prepaid subscribers is P100-150 while P900 for postpaid subscribers.Mojica said they target to increase their subscribers by another half a million subscribers as they will be more aggressive in laying out the best network and best plans.
