Mr Lee Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 What do you think? and what is the likelihood that it could spread to the Philippines if the OFW stop sending money home? I think slim chance because Filipinos are basically easy going people, but no money for food and who knows what could happen. If the bleak job market doesn’t improve soon, both the country and President Barack Obama will suffer the consequences, says star Democratic strategist James Carville. The country could even end up with citizen uprisings, the man who played a key role in much of former President Bill Clinton’s political success told radio talker Don Imus in an interview simulcast on Fox Business.Carville bluntly told Imus: “You know, look — this is a humanitarian — you know, you’re smart enough to see this . . . People, you know, if it continues, we’re going to start to see civil unrest in this country. I hate to say that, but I think it’s imminently possible.”The story HERE
softail Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I really don’t see that happening in the US because of the safety provided by the government. Are times tough, yes, is anybody going to starve, no. I volunteer at a food bank that has ample supplies of food and clothing. There are plenty of government programs that help people as well as public hospitals for the sick.I think guys like James Carville like to stir things up to keep the books flying off the shelves.Doug .
