Hoz Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 A street party and parade. Competition between "dancing" troupes. I think the main parade is this weekend. http://www.sinulog.ph/

Forum Support Old55 Posted January 17, 2009 Forum Support Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) A huge deal in Cebu but it's like a human car wash, leave your valuables at home. Edited January 17, 2009 by Old55
Jollygoodfellow Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 A huge deal in Cebu like a human car wash, leave your valuables at home.Last year I was going to attend the event but because it was raining and we were staying at Matcan we decided to watch it on TV instead. To me it became boring as it was the same thing over and over.I guess it would be different to be there in the atmosphere of the event. Mr Lee Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 They have a Sinulog festival here in Florida at a local church and we have gone a number of times, but once you have seen it once, then it is almost all the same except for the food. I wonder if that is true of the real one in Cebu? We have never been in Cebu in January to get to one, so I am hoping to see the real thing in the near future. One of my neighbors in Cebu has lost two cell phones (two different times) and a camera, so pickpockets are abundant there. Be careful!
Mike S Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 SkyCable is showing it on TV right now and have been all day ..... best seats in the house and don't have to compete with all the crowds ...... plus you can see everything up close ...... cameras are stationed right across from Robinson's on Osmena Circle ...... it's on about 3 channels here in Cebu City ......
