Could happen to you too MAN STRUCK BY LIGHTNING FOR SIXTH TIMEWhoever coined the saying “Lightning never strikes twice in the same place” never had the pleasure of meeting Melvin Roberts, who last Monday was struck by lightning for the sixth time.58-year-old Roberts, who was found lying unconscious on the floor, was struck while trying to cover the lawn mower, Martha Roberts, his wife, has said.The previous time the South Carolina man was struck, 2007, it wasn’t even raining. “I went to cover my chickens up, and I believe it was clear,” Roberts said. “But when I woke up, I was all bloody and burned and confused and had my little chickens lying with their feet up.”After that incident, Robert spent over a year in a wheelchair and was left with nerve damage to his left leg and scars on both legs.He also bears a scar on his forehead from the first time he was struck.According to him, his bad luck with lightning is directly connected to his love live. “I've been married five times and I've been hit by lightning five times,” Robert said on Wednesday. “[My wife] says this is the sixth time. I'm not leaving my wife, so I'm going to have to try to do something different."Roberts, who is currently recovering at Oconee Medical Center, believes that this “can happen to anybody”.
