tom_shor Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 i like to give EQUAL ACCESS to Rommel Alfonso , he too is accused of a crime against a girl or having a "sex slave"but he is not a foreigner but a citizen here in the RP.. I bet his "crime" will net only small amount of newspaper, tv time compared to the 78 yo Australian MANILA, Philippines – A 15-year-old girl was turned into a sex-slave by her neighbor in Malolos, Bulacan.“Diane” (not her real name), now 5 months pregnant, said she was abducted by her 40-year-old neighbor Rommel Alfonso last February 13, 2011.Alfonso, a former overseas Filipino worker, has a family with two children almost the age of Diane. He and his family arrived at Diane’s neighborhood only in December 2009.Diane’s family, meanwhile, has been living in the neighborhood for 13 years. The victim said she was brought to a house owned by the suspect’s sister-in-law in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija and became a sex-slave.Diane recalled that for more than a month, she was repeatedly abused by Alfonso. She said Alfonso, who was always drunk, would have sex with her almost everyday. She added that she was also physically abused. She said she had a hard time escaping because Alfonso tied her up. It was only during the last week of March that she was freed by the suspect, who remains at large.Several months later, Diane’s parents discovered that she was pregnant. She said she did not tell her parents about what happened because Alfonso supposedly threatened her.According to Diane, however, this was not the first time she was raped by Alfonso. The first incident, she alleged, was inside a computer shop on February 9, 2011.Prior to this, Diane said Alfonso had been bothering her through text, sending her “I love you” messages.A case has been filed against the suspect, but a Malolos fiscal ruled that no rape took place.Diane was given new hope when her case was taken by Atty. Jun Ambrosio, the same lawyer who sent former Zamboanga del Norte Rep. Romeo Jalosjos to jail for raping a teenage girl in 1996.Ambrosio took the case after an appeal made by ABS-CBN anchor Ted Failon through Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Dinky Soliman.Failon also said the Bulacan Prosecutors' Office promised to review Diane’s case.http://philnews.com/..._news_0720a.htm Her parents didn't notice her missing for a month? tom_shor Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Some great unbiased journalism. What does the house being a few blocks from Santos' have to with anything and what are the "unidentified drugs", heart medicine or cocaine? 78, hmm. Insinuations and innuendos, whatever sells. If the present Ella Joy suspects get off now they can charge him. Never hurts to have a backup plan. I am sure the witnesses can identify him as well. Forum Support Old55 Posted July 21, 2011 Forum Support Posted July 21, 2011 A good rule of thumb now days, I don’t care whether you are in the RP, the US, Australia or where ever, never ever be alone with kids. When I was a kid we had old retired guys all over the neighborhood that just loved to have us stop by and they would show us how to fix our bikes or take us fishing. This was great for them as well as us. I would just love to carry on the tradition and pass on the experience and memories to the kids in my neighborhood but I am scared to death of kids, all it takes is an accusation and the rest of my life is ruined, just not worth the chance.I am not saying that this is the case with the Australian, I have no idea whether he is being falsely accused or not but if he hadn’t been alone with them in the first place no accusation could be made and he wouldn’t be facing the possibility of an RP prison.Doug :541: Exactly! Waiting for the "amicable settlement" to be made and all is forgiven.

I think human society has lost a lot of value because of a very few creeps, and a number of people who have discovered a new way to "wealth." I am in no way trying to justify the creeps. However, I think the attitudes of the other side has done far more damage. ....it is similar to what has happened to gynecologists...because a few people thought any problem with a newborn was a free ticket to a gold mine, many areas now struggle with inadequate, or non-existant, pregnancy care. We seem to have lost the understanding that sometimes, stuff happens. Nowadays, there must be somebody held responsible for everything (just not politicians). That problem is now expanding to society in general, and especially to children. How many of you grew up being told that if you had a problem, go to the nearest adult? You younger ones probably weren't, but a lot of the older guys like me were brought up that way, I'm sure. Its had a chilling effect on helping children with ANYTHING. Case in point, many years ago, I was the Pack Master of the largest Cub Scout pack in California (to my knowledge). It was a joy. Today, there is no way I would get involved with something like that. There were just too many times that I was alone with the Cubbies, and in today's society that makes puts you in an extremely high risk position.
Inspector Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Cousin is a detective in NY...handles sex crimes, and he says kids are smart today...they use the threats of accusations to get what they want, especially step kids. His rule of thumb, if they are very young, it's usually true. Teenagers and it's a toss up...and interrogation takes care of these things quick. Problem is, the 15 year old girl accusing the step dad will not be charged for false accusations....IMHO, the is bullshet.

Dave Hounddriver Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 This is just hilarious. Apparently there was another girl there that they wanted to 'rescue' at the same time but according to another article: 'When we arrived at the house, we saw the four girls in the living room but another girl was in the kitchen and she ran off and escaped,'

Mr Lee Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 There is a such thing as Stockholm syndrome where longtime captives/hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors; sometimes to the point of defending them. That in no way means they were not held captive, it just means that they had already adjusted to their new life and gotten used to it. People will often fall into a routine and slowly accept what at first was horrible, and then becomes acceptable, and then when treated nicely, then becomes the norm, but that does not mean that the kidnapper did the people a favor when he kidnapped them, or held them against their will. Humans seem to have the ability to forget bad things. I am not saying that is what happened in the cases above, yet it might explain why many seem to be reluctant to be rescued.
